Geomagic for SolidWorks 2017

Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS is a plug-in from 3D scans to SOLIDWORKS that works seamlessly within SOLIDWORKS and is part of the company's end-to-end solution for industrial designers and engineers.

Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS enables fast and accurate processing of 3D scan data directly within the SOLIDWORKS environment. This allows users to create feature-based solid and surface data through a streamlined digital workflow, which in turn saves a significant amount of time in converting 3D scan data into models ready for editing in SOLIDWORKS.

The new plug-in features direct import of scans into SOLIDWORKS software, scan alignment, auto-smoothing, mesh editing, surface creation, and an automated "smart picking" tool that extracts solid features. In addition, accurate deviation analysis allows engineers to quickly and accurately compare the resulting CAD model with the original scan data.

At the same time, the plug-in supports direct scan input from most major scanners on the market, including 3D scanners from FARO, Hexagon, Nikon, Creaform, Ateck and 3D Systems.
