Schlumberger OLGA 2014.1
Schlumberger OLGA 2014.1 is a significant update, introducing new key functionalities and improvements.
The OLGA dynamic multiphase flow simulator models transient flow (time-dependent behaviors) to maximize production potential. Transient modeling is an essential component for feasibility studies and field development design. Dynamic simulation is essential in deep water and is used extensively in both offshore and onshore developments to investigate transient behavior in pipelines and wellbores.
Transient simulation with the OLGA simulator provides an added dimension to steady-state analyses by predicting system dynamics, such as time-varying changes in flow rates, fluid compositions, temperature, solids deposition, and operational changes.
From wellbore dynamics for any well completion to pipeline systems with all types of process equipment, the OLGA simulator provides an accurate prediction of key operational conditions involving transient flow.
The Risk Management and Optimization workflow is now included in all OLGA licenses. This introduces best-in-class technologies, leading the way in identifying flow assurance uncertainties and optimizing production.
The simulation model has been improved for slugs and rheology, and particle transport is introduced. Output variables can be preconfigured and reused. The simulator enables you to build submodels to better manage larger networks and target simulation time consumption more efficiently. The usability of workspace and 3D visualization has also been improved for better overview and result presentations.
Release Details:
- The first version of the Profile generator, together with the new tools Pipeline editor and Flowpath geometry data view, is released with OLGA 2014.1. The combined use of these tools is designed to improve the workflow for building a pipeline.
- In addition, the Drilling functionality is expanded to enable you to simulate various drilling and coiled tubing scenarios. Compositional mud tracking enables phase exchanges between reservoir fluids and muds.
- Particle flow (sand) is extended with a more advanced particle model.
