SIMATIC WinCC (TIA Portal) is part of a comprehensive, integrated engineering concept that offers a uniform engineering environment for the programming and configuration of control, visualization, and drive solutions. The WinCC Engineering Software includes innovative tools for the end-to-end configuration of all SIMATIC HMI operator panels. These devices also have on board the WinCC Runtime Software, which is available as a separate product for PC platforms.

SIMATIC WinCC Runtime Professional is a PC-based HMI system for visualization and operation of processes, production sequences, machines, and plants in all industries - ranging from simple single-station systems to distributed multi-station systems and location-independent solutions with Web clients.

SIMATIC WinCC Runtime Professional is based on a further development of WinCC Runtime V7.4 and is being granted access to WinCC Archive via OPC HDA, OPC A&E / OPC XML Server and WinCC OLE DB. The base package also includes APIs for Runtime to utilize the open programming interfaces.
