Simocode ES V16 (TIA Portal) Update 2

Simocode ES V16 (TIA Portal) Update 2 is the central software package for the configuration, commissioning, operation, and diagnosis of SIMOCODE pro with PROFIBUS/PROFINET communication interface.

SIMOCODE ES V16 (TIA Portal) offers the following features:

- Easy parameterization with the graphics editor based on the Continuous Function Chart (CFC) reduces engineering work and shortens startup times
- Clear plant documentation by means of graphic presentation
- Detailed information, also in the event of faults, is a help for maintenance personnel and shortens downtimes
- Universally usable through standalone version or seamless integration into the central engineering framework when other TIA Portal V16-based software such as STEP 7 or WinCC is available
- Parameter changes are also possible during normal operation

What is new in SIMOCODE ES V16
The following new features and innovations are available with SIMOCODE ES in the TIA Portal:

- Direct support of the following new SIMOCODE pro modules: SIMOCODE pro V PB V4.1 basic unit, SIMOCODE pro V EIP V1.1 basic unit
- Reduction of the versions for SIMOCODE ES: SIMOCODE ES Standard and SIMOCODE ES Premium will be combined into SIMOCODE ES Professional
- Improved performance in online/offline scenarios
- The Trial License query can be disabled if only the basic version is used
- Improved expert list: Flat display with uniform designation is set as the default, Possibility of marking parameters as favorites for more effective parameterization
- Improved mass engineering: New toolbar functions, New tooltips
- Improved CFCs: New banner to identify online/offline differences, Visibility of online/offline differences via icon directly at the connection, New search bar for the function blocks, Dragging of connections by double-clicking, Automatic centering on added function blocks, Cursor-oriented zooming in the function diagram editor, The name and comment of a block connection can be easily changed, Shortening of connection names for better display
- Loading of the firmware version on devices and online reading
- General improvement of tooltips and labeling
- Deactivation of the safety mode when using the DM F PROFIsafe module
- The module description can be updated via the Openness interface

This Update is valid for the following products:

- SIMOCODE ES V16 Basic
- SIMOCODE ES V16 Professional

Improvements and changes in SIMOCODE ES V16 Update 2
- Following selection of a soft starter application in the SIRIUS device wizard, the correct default values are now specified.
- The button for counter-clockwise rotation is no longer displayed in the commissioning editor under "Control/status information" for the "Direct starter" control function.
- In the chart editor, the function block "Operator panel with display" is now available in the function catalog.
- After the parameter assignment of a SIMOCODE pro V MR device has been uploaded, the parameters "Monitoring functions → ground fault → internal ground fault" are read out correctly.
- Online access via the COM interface [SIRIUS PtP] is fully available again.
- Problems that could occur after migration of SIMOCODE pro V PN devices have been eliminated.
- In the expert list of the parameter editor, the IP address can be edited in the offline mode.
- Problems that could occur in connection with the activation of the transformation ratio in the parameter editor under "Motor protection → overload/asymmetry/blocking → set current" have been cleared.
- Empty fields for the user name and password of the web server are no longer output during printing.
- Incomplete entries in the error buffer/error log of the commissioning editor are now displayed in full.
- Improvements to the user interface texts and tooltips

SIMOCODE ES is the central software for the commission-ing, operation and diagnostics of SIMOCODE pro. Unneces-sary system downtimes are consistently prevented, for ex-ample through online parameter changes during ongoing operation.

The control and protection functions as well as the control circuit wiring are realized via software with SIMOCODE pro – and can be comfortably adjusted with SIMOCODE ES. Three versions are offered: SIMOCODE ES Basic, SIMOCODE ES Standard and SIMOCODE ES Premium. While SIMOCODE ES Basic presents a powerful tool for commissioning and maintenance staff, the SIMOCODE ES Standard and Premi-um versions are perfectly suited for engineers and configu-ration engineers thanks to the larger functional scope and the integrated graphics editor. Compared to the Standard version, SIMOCODE ES Premium additionally allows for pa-rameterization and diagnostics via PROFIBUS.

The display of all operating, service and diagnostics data provides valuable information on the current motor and system state at all times – at any PROFIBUS point.

The object manager forms part of SIMOCODE ES Premium. Thanks to this software tool, SIMOCODE ES is totally inte-grated within the scope of SIMATIC S7. If both software packages are installed on the programming device or PC on which the SIMATIC S7 hardware configuration is realized, SIMOCODE ES can be directly called up from STEP 7. Time savings through a mouse click.
